The color of the laser Engraving is determined by a masking paint, typically a black tempera paint will produce a white frosted look on glass, it’s easy to clean up but applying can be tricky because the paint is so sensitive to flaking. If you want a black engraving on glass, typically a rustoleum based paint of a specific color is used, it’s easy to apply evenly, but cleanup can be tIke consuming. If you’re not sure what you want feel free to ask us, often the content of the engraving will determine what color we end up using.
Almost any type of glassware can be laser engraved, including wine glasses, beer mugs, shot glasses, and even decorative glass objects like vases or mirrors. In order to produce the best quality product, we include one additional piece in the ordering process so we can run test grids on it to determine the best settings for that type of glass and masking paint. It doesn’t add much to the cost because glass is typically cheap, but the quality from a properly calibrated engraving is a thing of beauty!
The cost of a laser engraved project depends on the size and complexity of the design, the amount of prep work needed to make the image look good on the medium, the number of pieces to be engraved, and the cost for us to obtain the products to be engraved. We work with wholesale suppliers in order to bring the cost of the product down when we can, but we’re also not limited to where we purchase our products from. We will do our utmost best to provide an accurate estimate before beginning a project, final costs are not subject to the initial estimate though and we’ll work with you to try and get the item produced as close to our initial estimate as we can.
Products being laser engraved can have unintended results, and if the project was properly scoped to include a sample material, and we end up making a mistake, we’ll absorb the cost of purchasing additional materials if we make a mistake. Subject to limitations.
This is dependent on the the type of product to be engraved, the estimated time to engrave a single piece, and whether or not the results are easily reproduced from piece to piece.
We are not a big shop, with a sole employee count of 1. My machines I own are capable of bulk work, but it still requires time to set up each job in a batch. Please contact us for more details!
When we complete your order, we’ll pack the item in a manner we feel will protect the product on its journey to you. Typically we can provide an estimate of shipping costs before the project starts, but sometimes we may have to adjust the costs once the item is packed up and ready for shipping.
Once we ship your item, we’ll send you a tracking number and receipt showing shipping costs to your specified contact information via e-mail, text, or instant message.
These products are our pride and joy, everything about them from the selection process, to shaping and preparing them for engraving, the laser calibrations, and the image used is done carefully so as to end up with a product we will take pride in producing for you.
Every one of these boards are purchased locally from someone who obtains the logs, dries them in a kiln, cuts the boards, and planes them flat. I’ve got various suppliers who are able to obtain them either by working with a tree cutting service, or cutting them on their own. All these boards from salvaged trees that had to be cut down for one reason or another, but in doing so you’re able to enjoy them instead of having them rot in the woods. For any exotic woods, we make sure we order them from responsible sources that replant what they harvest.
These boards can have images provided by you, photos I’ve taken with my DSLR, or art I’ve purchased for commercial use. The possibilities are endless and we will try our best to produce a board that meets your needs.
All of our live edge wood products are cut, sanded, cracks glued, sanded again, and protected with an appropriate food-safe finish for you to cut or display food on.
